The Make Arcade supply a huge range of craft kits to make arts and crafts accessible to all, whether seasoned crafters or sewing newbies. Based in Salisbury, The Make Arcade produce their Happy Craft Kits in their colourful craft studio to ship across the world.
blue bee produced a clean, modern Shopify website to make ordering online as easy as possible for customers. The new site has bags of personality with a bright, loud design and seamless checkout system.
The project
The Make Arcade needed a new e-commerce website to better represent their quirky brand. The new site needed a clearer navigation, enhanced user journey and bold design to appeal to all crafters, young and old.
After redesigning The Make Arcade’s logo, we produced a bespoke Shopify website to help the client take their business to new heights. In addition to engaging product pages and a flawless checkout process, the new site boasts a craft workshop booking system and integrated Mailchimp signup functionality.
What we delivered
Seamless online store and product experience
We built a custom Shopify website for The Make Arcade to make it easy for customers to shop their vast range of products. To make the site simpler to navigate, we expanded the top navigation with additional parent pages. The site boasts multiple navigations to create a seamless user journey to the checkout.
To better showcase the client’s products, the product pages needed to be engaging. The new site’s product pages have additional image gallery space with the option to add video, as well as a zoom function and related products bar.
On The Make Arcade’s previous website, the branding stopped when checkout began. Now, the site is fully branded all the way through the checkout process to ensure continuity and give customers a flawless brand experience.
Bold, bright website and logo design
Our design team were tasked with creating a bold, bright website that encapsulates the client’s fun brand identity whilst remaining uncluttered. The new site features a broad colour palette – in line with the existing brand guidelines – with playful watermarks and clear call-to-actions. The stand-out design ensures The Make Arcade is a memorable brand.
We also redesigned the client’s logo to make it landscape. The previous circular logo was not suitable for online use, so a new logo shape was needed to complement the new website.
