The Power of Personal: How to Humanise Your Social Media & Boost Engagement

Social media has quickly become one of the most popular marketing tools, but it can be hard to know how to make your content stand out. With the recent rise of AI it may seem like turning to Chat GPT is the easiest solution, but it can’t do one very important job… humanise.

Humanising your social media essentially means making it more personal and giving your brand a voice. If done correctly it can have a really positive impact on your engagement by boosting audience loyalty.

Luckily for you, Blue Bee are the experts at this, here are a few of our favourite tips and tricks to help humanise your social media to boost engagement:

Show your employees

Sharing your employees online can be a great way for your audience to get to know the faces behind the brand. It also allows them to see who they will be buying from or dealing with. This helps build trust and over time will lead to longer-lasting relationships. The result of this will be more engagement as your audience will feel more connected.

Your story and employees are what make your business unique, so make sure you share it!

I am sure we all have that one social media account that we’ve followed for so long you start to think you know them. Well, that’s because we connect to people and faces, not objects and AI…

If you’re not sure where to start with your content then consider these: meet the team, work events, BTS footage or employees simply just doing their job. Your audience will love to see your authentic self so don’t over think it.

Language and emojis

The language you choose to use is vital, accounts that sound friendly and inviting are naturally more engaging than those that sound robotic. We want our audience to be able to relate to us and using engaging but simple language can help build that bridge.

Although this may seem like an obvious one, emojis are a great way to create a friendly tone and add personality to your posts. Posts with emojis have been found to get over 57% more likes than those without.

Emojis show feeling and encourage the reader to echo that feeling which will make them more likely to engage with your content.

User Generated Content (UGC)

UGC is content made by users, this can come in many different formats and can help to boost your engagement. Some formats include:

  • Images
  • Videos
  • Reviews
  • Testimonials

Sharing UGC shows followers that you care about your clients and value their feedback and support. This will not only help with engagement but also show the authenticity of your brand and influence consumer purchasing decisions. Users prefer to see real customer experiences, over brand generated content as they find this more trustworthy.

Having a mix of both content is important to ensure your content is well balanced.
