Developing a Clear Digital Direction
The first stage of the project focused on defining what the new website needed to achieve.
Williams Lester wanted a clean, modern and accessible online presence that would strengthen brand credibility, support future growth and help prospective clients clearly understand their services. The site needed to showcase the directors’ hands‑on involvement in every project, demonstrate the practice’s depth of expertise and make it simple for users to get in touch.
Their target audience includes developers, landowners and decision‑makers looking for a dependable, knowledgeable and approachable architectural partner, so clarity and confidence were key priorities throughout the project.

Establishing the Visual and Structural Approach
Blue Bee began the creative process by designing the homepage across mobile and desktop, establishing a clear visual direction from the outset. The design focused on clean layouts, refined typography and high‑quality imagery, creating a professional and contemporary feel.
Once the homepage direction was approved, three inner page designs were produced to demonstrate layout structure, content flow and how projects and services would be presented throughout the site. Photography played a central role in the user journey, with Williams Lester providing an extensive library of striking architectural imagery that helped elevate the overall visual impact and bring the practice’s work to life.

Building a Flexible, High‑Performing Platform
Following design approval, the project moved into development. The website was built in WordPress, providing Williams Lester with a flexible and scalable platform that supports strong performance and allows their team to easily manage content in‑house.
Throughout development, the focus remained on delivering a site that not only looked impressive but also performed reliably. Accessibility, responsive design and page‑speed optimisation were treated as core considerations to ensure a smooth and intuitive experience for every visitor, regardless of device.
As the build progressed, Blue Bee worked closely with Williams Lester to refine written content and select imagery that best represented the practice’s identity. The quality and depth of architectural photography became a defining feature of the site, reinforcing Williams Lester’s reputation for design excellence. Alongside this, messaging was carefully refined to clearly communicate their services, director‑led approach and long‑standing industry experience.
Ongoing Digital Marketing Support
Following the website launch, Blue Bee continued to support Williams Lester Architects with ongoing digital marketing activity to ensure the new platform remained visible, active and effective.
Each month, this includes the management of Google Ads campaigns, ongoing SEO work, the creation of a monthly blog, organic social media activity and the planning and delivery of email newsletters. This consistent approach helps maintain visibility, drive relevant traffic and support enquiry generation, ensuring the website continues to perform as a business tool rather than remaining static.

Measuring Performance and Results
Alongside the new website, Blue Bee implemented full tracking for key user interactions, allowing Williams Lester to accurately measure performance for the first time. This included tracking contact form submissions, email clicks and phone enquiries.
In the period following launch, the impact was clear. Direct traffic increased to 4,939 visits compared with 1,632 in the previous period, an increase of 202.63%. New users grew significantly to 8,322, up from 1,420 previously.
Increase in New Website Users
Key enquiries could now be measured, with 106 tracked events recorded, including 78 contact form submissions, 15 email enquiries and 13 phone calls. These interactions had not been tracked prior to the new website going live.
Comparing the same date range year‑on‑year (31 July 2025 to 9 March 2026 against 31 July 2024 to 9 March 2025), overall website sessions increased from 3,379 to 9,286. Direct traffic rose from 1,855 to 4,939, while new users increased from 2,832 to 8,322, demonstrating a clear step‑change in digital performance.

The Outcome
The final result is a modern, visually confident and strategically built website that reflects Williams Lester Architects’ heritage, showcases their expertise and supports ongoing growth.
Combined with consistent digital marketing activity and measurable performance insight, the website now plays an active role in generating high‑quality enquiries and supporting the practice’s future ambitions.
